Everyone's an idiot
Everyone - no matter how brilliant, beautiful or capable they may appear to us - makes mistakes.
Everyone screws up, everyone makes errors of judgment, everyone says stupid shit now and again.
Everyone feels the pain of rejection and the pang of regret.
Idiocy is not unique to you - it's a part of the human experience.
Making a balls up doesn't mean that you are less capable, or less worthy; it's just a part of life.
“I am not a saint, unless you think of a saint as a sinner who keeps on trying.”
― Nelson Mandela
We've made countless missteps over the years - we've failed in business ventures, burnt bridges were we shouldn't have and failed to take action when we should have...many tines.
All of those experiences, along with lots of positive growth and success, are a vital part of the journey that got us to this point in time.
This ebb and flow of light and shade, progress and regression is what builds resilience and strength. It's the backbone of great stories of courage and learning.
As much as our modern world detests the very idea that failure and imperfection even exist; let alone that somehow this terrible affliction should infect your world - it's a normal part of everyone's life.
Ironically though, we shamefully try to hide these embarrassments, we bury them and deny their existence. That's where they then stay - festering and boiling and poisoning our future.
Everyone and every organisation has a shadow.
They only way out is through; the only way to move forward is to shine a spotlight on our imperfections and wholeheartedly embrace their existence before we can design and choose an alternative path.
