Making things with no thinking

Andre 3000 is a musician who hasn't made a lot of music recently.

In this podcast interview with legendary music producer, Rick Rubin, Andre 3000 shares, that in many ways, he has lost a lot of self-confidence in his ability to create music.

Although he has a deep desire to get back to where he was before - 'the creative process is just not happening.'

Rubin's advice to him, is perhaps what makes Rick on of the world's best producers.

Overthinking is a modern phenomenon that we spend far too little time discussing.

Our world is filled with information and knowledge and an abundance of thinking, but that oversupply of mental output is literally the very thing that kills our creativity - our joy of making something just for the fun of it.

Everything is so structured and serious and measured, leaving very little room for our spirits to be free to create.

As the saying goes: 'If you want to have a good idea, have a lot of ideas first.'
