The value of pain

Pain is valuable. Use it wisely.

When things are going well - there is no reason to change.

Pain on the other hand - and our experience of severe pain and torment - is a powerful catalyst for change.

It focuses our minds and attention on all of the possible ways out and away from the pain that we are suffering.

We magically become inventive and find huge amount of energy and motivation to commit to, and action, an intervention.

It's an opportunity for renewal, an asset, but only if we embrace it and avoid numbing ourselves to its sting through denial or avoidance.

Without the intense fear of pain and how uncomfortable it makes us feel - we fool ourselves into being satisfied with the status quo; the slow but very real decent into decay and irrelevance.

Pain is incredibly valuable as a strategic tool for sustained and motivated action. Use it wisely.
