No Plan B
Success comes from NOT having a Plan B.
Much of the inertia, or palpable feeling of stuck-ness, that a lot of organisations feel can be directly linked to the existence of an abundance of options.
When there are too many options available, that's when multiple time-sapping meetings are held to debate 'which option is best'.
Teams can literally waste years-and-years on going around-and-around trying to decide which path is the right one. Depending on who you talk to, there's always a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C etc etc.
When a Plan B exists - so does overthinking and a lack of progress.
And ironically the best remedy for a Plan B is proper strategy.
Proper strategy kills inertia because a good strategic practice enables an organisation to constantly explore wildly divergent thinking for the purpose of fine-tuning and strengthening the clear and considered set of choices that ultimately guide them.
Structured exploration converged and distilled into insights, thanks to proper sense making, results in a strict framework for decision-making that drives the organisation forward.
Success comes from NOT having a Plan B.
Building the confidence to only have one guiding principle steering the business takes a lot of careful consideration of the alternatives.
