February is 'art month' in Cape Town
The fair is part of the region's accelerating progress towards marketing itself as a luxury travel destination.
Despite the loud noise that is going on in the world at the moment, life does carry on. The sweet spot in all of this is to remain aware of what's happening around you, but not to get sucked-in and thrown-off by it. Adjust where necessary, but put the huffing and puffing into perspective.
So focusing on things to look forward to in this first quarter of 2025 - the big one for us is the upcoming Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2025 at the CTICC.
The way we see it - the Cape Town Art Fair is part of the region's accelerating progress towards marketing itself as a luxury travel destination.
Yes - hosting backpackers and kite boarders is cute and fun, but the real economic value is in presenting the luxury travel community with a compelling enough product to come to the Western Cape for extended periods of time while offloading considerable amounts of foreign exchange into our local offerings. Things like the Mining Indaba achieve that - as does the art fair. But really the city is still at the early stages of truly unlocking the opportunities that these and other events can offer.
The art industry too in South Africa is still maturing from a low base, so we look forward to seeing how much it has evolved since last year.
