Technology will not save you from yourself

If you give a 5-year-old a Steinway Concert Grand piano they're not automatically going to sound like Elton John.

A lot of business leaders believe that if they go through a process of digital transformation, they will somehow also magically turn-on future success for their businesses.

Sadly, it's not that easy.

If you give a 5-year-old a Steinway Concert Grand piano they're not automatically going to sound like Elton John.

Simply buying in the best and latest tools is not going to make any difference to your bottom line. If your company culture and the capabilities of your team are not aligned with your vision of the future then all the digital transformation in the world won't fix your problem.

If you want to play on the big stages of the world and command respect from your audience (your customers) you need to dedicate yourself to crafting your talent (your culture and collective skill sets).

Rather invest the money on developing that, before you go out and buy expensive technology solutions.

Elton John can play a piano out of a Lucky Packet and still draw an audience; Chopsticks on a Steinway still sounds like Chopsticks.
