[Pics] Cape Town Cycle Tour 2026

Showcasing the best of the city, the annual Cape Town Cycle Tour is one of those champagne-events that most world cities would kill to have.

It's not only the beautiful scenery that's on show, but also a practical demonstration of our local logistics prowess. Closing off 109kms of city roads and individually timing more than 30 000 riders around the course is an impressive achievement.

Integrating all of these elements into a seamless experience requires some very competent co-ordination between public and private role players, something that we don't necessarily realise... or fully appreciate given the complexity of the task.

While the rest of the world appears to be preoccupied with division, fear and a deepening sense of despair, occasions like the CTCT are a welcomed reminder that there are still alternative ways to spend time and energy.
