The not-so-secret secret place to swim, soak up the sun and enjoy dusk in Cape Town is Saunders' Rock Beach.
It's to be found at the very southern end of the Sea Point Promenade, has a decent sized tidal pool and offers ample parking for those looking for a quick dip-n-drive before heading to the office.
For quintessential Cape Town promotional launches it's also becoming a go-to destination for brands that want to be seen as being cool without coming across as too out-of-reach.
As a usable city canvas, Cape Town really does offer brands a perfect setting to host an event without needing to book an event in a hotel lobby or in a convention centre. Having a launch in a public place like this is perhaps less controllable than doing it in a more predictable environment, but so much more interesting and engaging.
I suspect that this morning's Poetry event (the initial setting up of we snapped a pic of two of) has something to to with them opening a flagship store on the Sea Point high street in a couple of days time.
