ASICS Trail presents good reasons to visit the Western Cape

It feels like we're saying this every week, but the popularity of running is becoming out of control.

Try go for a leisurely Prom trot at 07h12 on any Saturday morning and you will be joining a throng of running groups (some who look rather official, but most very much social) fighting for space to move and joining a long queue for the obligatory Plato flatwhite afterwards.

The growing demand for 'time outside' in nature is insane (this is winter in the Cape damn it) and appears to only be getting stronger.

Recognising that the trails and nature of the Western Cape are the closest thing to heaven on Earth for outdoor enthusiasts, Asics (and their indie London-based agency AGIT8) chose to shoot their latest trail ad in spots that look incredibly familiar to us.

And of course, while the team were enjoying the vibe here they also decided to shoot the commercial for the new Asics Novablast 6 in the Cape Town CBD too, cause what other city would you rather be cruising through at the crack of dawn?

All indications suggest that running (trail, Prom, Half, Marathon, Ultra) is most certainly on the ascendancy and its spiritual home is the Western Cape.

This is just the beginning. Momentum is building and there is, no doubt, a lot more to be created on the back of this.
