What's your plan?

Things in life happen for two reasons - they're either the result of making certain decisions or luck.

Decision-making is something you can control, luck isn't.

Whether it is building a business, planning an overseas trip or asking somebody to marry you; decisions are a means to an end.

Good decisions [along with a bit of luck] are key moments in time that lead to the realising of plan.

But if the plan is hazy you can spend a lot of time, and mental effort, exhausting yourself with lots of decisions, and never make any reasonable forward momentum in any direction.

Decision-making needs to exist in partnership with a plan - otherwise you just end up with busy-ness, which really is the very worst way to waste time.

So before you make your first decision:

  • 'What does the goal look like?'
  • 'How do you want it to end?'
  • 'What do you intend to achieve with all of this hard work?'

As time progresses the plan may change with it. Or you may actually never end up achieving your planned outcome - both of which are okay.

Having the plan in the first place at least gives you the runway to put relevance into your efforts.
