2019 Nobel Prize for Economics co-winner, Esther Duflo, on social experiments to fight poverty
This year's joint winners of the Nobel Prize for Economics are Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer.
They won the prize for their work on poverty alleviation in developing countries.
Here is Esther Duflo [only the 2nd female winner of the prize] giving her TED talk in 2010.
In this talk she highlights the fact that poverty interventions are often conducted without understanding what might improve the effectiveness of the interventions.
